Getting To And From Forli Airport

There is a bus that runs regularly from Forli airport to the train station and into the city itself.  The buses from the airport run every 20 minutes and are very cheap.

Taxis operate from outside the airport and it is always a good idea to agree a price before getting the taxi.

It is always a good idea to keep up to date with all the latest Forli Airport Arrivals if you are collecting passengers arriving on a flight at Forli airport. Unfortunately delays do occur and the last thing you want to be doing is turning up at the airport too early if a flight has been delayed.

Forli Airport Arrivals Procedures

Once your flight touches down at Forli Airport, your aircraft will then taxi along the runway and into the parking bay to which it has been allocated. You will then be required to stay in your seat until the aircraft has come to a complete stand still. Upon coming to a stand still, the Ground staff at the airport will then attach the star case for passengers to disembark the aircraft. After the staircase has been attached, you will be allowed to disembark the aircraft and make your way to the Terminal building. If you will require assistance getting from the aircraft to the Terminal building, it is advisable to contact either your airline or the airport prior to your date of travel so that they can arrange a member of staff to be ready waiting for you once your flight arrives at the airport.

As with any other International airport, before you are allowed entry to Italy, you will be required clear Security and Passport Control. At Passport Control, you will need to present a valid passport and any other documentation needed for your travel and entry to Italy. If you are unsure as to what documentation you may need, it is recommended that you check you prior to travel that you have all the relevant documents.

Baggage Reclaim At Forli Airport Arrivals

After clearing Security and Passport Control, you can make your way to the Baggage Reclaim area. The Baggage Reclaim area is where you will be able to collect any hold luggage that you may have checked-in for your flight to Forli Airport before leaving you country of origin. Inside the Baggage Reclaim area there are carousels and each flight arrival at the airport is allocated its own carousel. Located above the carousels are overhead monitors and on these monitors you will see the flight number and origin of the flight to whose luggage each carousel is processing. All you will need to do is watch the monitors and wait for your flight number to be displayed. Once your flight number is displayed on the monitor, simply make your way to the appropriate carousel to which your flight has been allocated and await your luggage to appear.

The Ground support staff at Forli airport do their best to make this process as quick as possible and are generally quite good at getting your luggage from the aircraft and onto the carousel quickly. If you are landing at peak times when there are several flights arriving around the same time, this process may take a little longer. However, this should only be minimal and you should not have that much longer to wait.

There are toilets available inside the Baggage Reclaim if you need to pay a visit or simply just freshen up after your flight and before your onward journey.

Trolleys are available from inside the Baggage reclaim area to help assist you with your luggage.

Once you have reclaimed your luggage successfully, you can then make your way to through to the main Arrivals area Lobby.

Please Note: If you are only travelling with hand luggage and have not checked-in any hold luggage, you can bypass the Baggage Reclaim area and make your way to the exit doors leading to the main Arrivals area.

The Main Arrivals Lobby

The main Arrivals area lobby is the main greeting area and is where you will be greeted if you are being collected from the airport by family or friends. It is also where you will normally be greeted by your representative if you have pre-booked your transfer in advance or you have booked a package holiday that has transfer included. If you are uncertain as to where you will be greeted at the airport, you should contact the company you booked your travel through.

Outside the main Arrivals area is where you will find public transport that connects passengers to the many different destinations. If you are wanting to catch the bus and are unsure which is the best bus service for you, simply ask a member of staff at the Information desk and they will be happy to assist you with your enquiry.

There is also a regular bus service that connects passengers landing at the airport to the railway station in Forli. This is a cheap option for passengers who wish to reach the railway station and then catch connecting trains to the many other destinations that are available.

Taxis operate from outside the main Arrivals area and if you are thinking about taking a taxi to your final destination, it is wise to ask the taxi driver how much the fare will be, before you actually get in the taxi.

 

Forli Airport Departures

Forli Airport Departures And Procedures

If you are flying from Forli Airport, there are certain procedures in place at the airport that you will be required to comply with. These procedures are not only in place for your safety and the safety of other passengers but are also there to help the make your Departure from Forli Airport run smoothly.

As with any other International airport throughout the world, any person wishing to fly from Forli Airport must Check-In for their flight. Failure to Check-In for your flight and hold a valid Boarding pass will only result in you not being allowed to fly.

Passengers have the option of either Checking-In Online before the arrive at the airport or they can use the more traditional method and Check-In at the airport.

There are 11 Check-In desks that are available and these are located in the Departures area of the airport. If you choose to Check-In at the airport, you will first need to find out which Check-In desks have been allocated for your flight. Each flight departures from Forli Airport is allocated a certain number of Check-In desks and the easiest way to find out which ones have been allocated for your flight is to look at one of the overhead monitors in the Departures area. The overhead monitors display all the latest flight departures from the airport and also display which Check-In desks are for that flight. Once you have managed to find out which desks are for your flight, you will need to make your way to the desks and wait in the queue until there is a member of staff available to Check you in for your flight. At the Check-In desk you will be required to present a valid passport and any other documentation that is required for your travel. You will also need to place any luggage that you are Checking-In for the flight onto the weighing scales at the side of the desk.

Please Note: All airlines have different policies regarding weight allowance for Hold luggage, you should ensure that you are familiar with the allowance for the airline to which you are flying with and should not exceed that allowance. If you exceed the weight limit, you may be charged an additional fee for the excess.

When you have been Checked-In for your flight, the representative at the desk will issue you with your Boarding Pass. You will need to retain your Boarding Pass as you will be required to present it at the Security area and also at the Boarding Gate before boarding your flight.

Once you have Checked-In and received your Boarding pass, you can make your way to the Security Area.

You will need to present all the relevant document required to complete your car hire. These generally include your driving licence, credit card, booking reference or voucher.
